TWO PRO CLUB TRIALS FOR 10-YEAR-OLD SHILLINGTON

Date: 07/08/2015

Harry Shillington, 10, has landed trials with Brentford FC of the Championship and League One side Millwall FC. An agile attacker, Harry's ability with both feet means he's able to play in any of the forward positions, but prefers attacking midfield or striker. The Australian-born player, who also played for FC Copenhagen in Denmark, had a prolific season last year, scoring more than half of his clubs goals for the year. Harry was spotted by scouts at our West London trial in August, and is set for his trial with Brentford FC tomorrow, August 8th. He currently plays football four times a week, training on Monday's and Friday's with Wycombe Wanderers Elite Development Squad, Saturday's with his current local side Chorley Wood FC and he plays matches on Sundays. His Dad, Steve, said: "The trial was very good, it was an intense session, very focussed and it was great to see the scouts there watching the players. Harry loved the pressure and loved the environment, which was the key thing from a parent’s perspective." He added: "I’d absolutely recommend UK Football Trials, it’s well worth the money and the time. It’s a great place to go and get your son recognised by scouts.”

Trial opportunity for winger who refused to give up

Date: 05/08/2015

Vagnol Kediambiko, 20, attended two trials in 2015 and it was the second time around he was scouted by Newcastle Town FC. He attended a training session and played 45 minutes in a trial match for the semi pro side. Vagnol has previously trialed for Stevenage and trained with a Barnet FC development squad. "I’m not at a club at the moment so I’m having to keep myself fit, training every day alone," he said, "Monday’s and Wednesday’s I do fitness, interval training etc, Tuesday’s is agility work and Thursday's is ball work. On the weekend’s I usually play games with friends for match practice." Vagnol was unsuccessful in his first UK Football Trial, and despite the disappointment, listened to the coaches comments, went away and improved, and came back for a second trial where he was able to impress. He said: "I went the first time in February and got a good assessment. The second time I came back in May I did better and that shows the marks were accurate and I used the feedback I received to improve. It was enjoyable, I had fun and the whole set up was great." I’d definitely recommend people to go along in August – if you’re looking to play in front of scouts then there’s nowhere better to go – they’ll be people there looking at you 100%."

UK Football Trials set to uncover south-west superstar

Date: 03/08/2015

FOOTBALLER’S from the South West are set to be given a dream opportunity to make it as a professional footballer, as UK Football Trials travels to Plymouth. After many requests from you in the last few months, we will be holding a football trial at Marjon University in Plymouth, providing players from Devon and Cornwall with the best ever chance to to be scouted by a professional football club. On Friday, August 28, players will be able to emulate their footballing heroes with an academy style training session, taken by pro club coaches, before getting the chance to play a match in front of scouts from the Premier League through to semi pro. Taking a successful model from London, Manchester and Birmingham, which has seen 110 players’ details taken by clubs so far in 2015, scouts will be able to contact players who impress, giving them the dream chance of a trial at a professional football club. Harry Price, the founder of UK Football Trials, explains: “We have found there are plenty of talented players who either don’t get a chance at a pro club or are written off prematurely. Players in the South West will not have had the same opportunities or exposure to scouts as players from the larger Cities.” He added: “We are excited to be taking our proven model to Plymouth and give players the chance to experience not only pro club coaching but a chance to play in front of scouts. We are really hopeful we will be able to give many players in Cornwall and Devon the chance they need at a pro club.” There are not just opportunities available domestically – the Mallorca Academy will be an official partner of the trial and scouting for players to join the academy in Spain, the partners of Real Mallorca. The trial is open to all and prices start at £70. Spaces are limited and allocated on a first come, first served basis. To book in, click on the Trial Dates tab at the top of the page.

Swansea winger set for week-long trial with Bristol Rovers

Date: 31/07/2015

10-year-old Rhys Maddocks is set for a week’s trial with newly promoted Bristol Rovers, who will play this season in Football League 2. Rhys attended our Swansea trial earlier in the year and impressed enough to receive attention from 4 clubs on the day. The tricky right midfielder is set to train with Rovers’ academy in August. Rhys, currently of Swansea City academy, trains several times a week in order to keep developing and maintain fitness levels. “He trains pretty much every day with one team or academy somewhere, he just loves football and can’t get enough of it,” said his father. "The trial was very good and Rhys enjoyed it a lot, he’s actually been to two trials now and he was a bit nervous for the first one, but the second time he performed much better. These trials will have helped him massively in preparing for a pro club trial.” He added: “I have already recommend UK Football Trials to other players I work with. Rhys was already at a club but we brought him along and he came away with four more options in his football – we’ll definitely be coming back again."

Former MK Dons winger secures three week trial with Gillingham

Date: 27/07/2015

Laurence Vaughan, 17, is currently on trial with League One side Gillingham FC, after impressing at our Essex trial earlier in May. Laurence, who was with MK Dons for 5 years, displayed great dribbling, passing and exceptional crossing ability during his stint on the left wing. “When I was at MK Dons they took care of my training really, but since I was released I’ve had to do it all myself. Every day I go up to the local astro pitch or the park and do fitness work. I time my runs, push ups, sit ups, etc and work with the ball too, to make it more realistic.” "My UK Football Trial was very good, I’ve been to trials with other people in the past and nothing has come of it so I was a bit hesitant, but doing this trial was the best thing I’ve ever done. I’ve not really had scouts watching me before but here you can see them walking around with pen and paper, watching you closely, so it was great." "This is a great chance to get scouted. At UK Football Trials, if you’re good enough, they will find you. There’s people there that show interest in you and even if you don’t get scouted, you will improve anyway as it’s a great training session. I’d definitely recommend it."

South African striker secures trial with two football league clubs

Date: 24/07/2015

Kyle van der Walt, who recently moved to the UK from South Africa, has been training with Rochdale FC after impressing at the Manchester trial in May. The 13-year-old striker, who played to a high level in South Africa, is also set for a week-long trial with Accrington Stanley in August. Kyle’s favoured position is as a lone striker, although he can also play in the number 10 role or on either wing. He trains 5 times a week with various clubs and coaching academies. His Father said: “Kyle trains all the time, as much as he can. He goes running every morning and works a lot on core skills – he’s very committed.” "The trial was a lot of fun and he was really able to be himself. That’s one of the main things we took away from it, it was easy for him to settle quickly and he is able to express himself well – football is about having fun and he did that, it was fluid.” "I’d definitely recommend UK Football Trials to other parents and players, everything was really easy and they gave us everything we needed. My main piece of advice would be to really take advantage of the emails they send you, they were so helpful."

What can you expect at a pro club trial?

Date: 20/07/2015

UK Football Trialist Ramone Blackett, brother of Manchester United defender Tyler, has returned from a week-long trial with Barnsley Football Club. Blackett, 21, attended our Manchester trial in February this year and impressed on the day, attracting attention from a number of clubs. The winger formerly of Man United, Wigan and Blackpool, recently spent a week with League One Barnsley, where he was put through his paces with the u21 squad. Despite being told they wouldn’t be signing him, Blackett gained some valuable experience from his trial and spoke to us about his week at Oakwell. “It was great, I really enjoyed it and thought I did well,” he said. “I was mostly with the u21’s for the week, although there was some First Team interest but nothing came of it. Typically I got there for around 09.30am for a 10.30am start, and we’d go until 2pm, sometimes 4pm depending on what we were doing. We did a lot of fitness as it’s still pre-season, we were in the gym quite a bit and everything was so professional and structured, one day we did legs, then upper body, all the food was planned out for us – at lunch there was pasta, fish, chicken and lots of fruit, anything to give us energy for the afternoon session.” Blackett added: “Then we’d spend quite a bit of time working on defending, tactics, that kind of thing – it was all to a good level.” Blackett wasn’t the only player on trial that week, also training were other players in a similar position to himself, something which he found helped him settle in and make him feel at home. “There were a few of us there that they were looking at, so knowing I wasn’t the only one helped me settle in pretty quickly. We were all knew and I did know a few of the boys already so you know, it was a really friendly environment.” Unfortunately for Blackett, Barnsley took the decision not to keep him on after his trial and he will now be returning to UK Football Trials in a bid to take his career in a new direction, but he has some advice for anyone who is lucky enough to secure a pro trial. “It didn’t quite work out for me, but I’d say to anyone who’s going for a trial – be confident. Show your main attributes and strengths, that’s why they got you in in the first place. You already know that they like you, otherwise you wouldn’t be there.” If you want to follow Blackett and earn a pro club trial, or even play alongside him at our next trials in August, join “The Search” now by clicking on the Trial Dates tab at the top of the page and registering your details! Young Norwegian Star Recalled To Man City after successful first spell

Date: 09/07/2015

Marko Fyrad at just 11 years old and from Norway has impressed at his recent Man City trial. After starring at the UKFT trials in February and May, Marco was called for trial and impressed the club who have requested him back. We asked UKFT & Man City Academy coach John Fenton how he got on – “Marko did very well on his first session with Manchester City and I can reveal he has been invited back to train and play with the elite boys in September or October.” This is exciting news for Marko - a pacey left winger who scored a staggering 118 goals in his last season for his club. We asked his dad what his secret is and what advice he’d give to other players looking to make it – “Marko first kicked a ball at 4-years-old and the very first time he kicked it I thought “wow”. He had a natural ability straight away but he lives football - he trains almost every day and is always watching games on TV, watching tricks on YouTube, it’s all he does.” This is a common theme for our selected players and perhaps the most important piece of advice we can give – practise all you can, it will pay off! We then asked his dad how he was feeling about his opportunity with the Premier League giants; “Marko is so happy that he’s been invited back for more training with Man City and he can’t wait to go back over to England for the next session. In May he trained for three days with a select group and was with the academy players for the final two days where he did very well.” We have some exclusive footage of Marco from our trials which shows the sort of talent which attracted Man City, which you can watch here by copying this link into your browser - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ekEzVhEXgkk - we are all hoping he continues to impress. Don’t forget that if you want the chance to follow Marko into Pro or Semi Club trials you can book to take part in our Summer trials we are calling “The Search” – with multiple scouts at every event giving you the best opportunity to join Marko and get a dream trial at a football club! UK Football Trials Begins "The Search" in Bermuda

Date: 08/07/2015

UK Football Trials begin "The Search" in Bermuda embarking on a 4-day trial camp, in which time more than 150 players will be put through their paces by our team of UEFA Coaches and Scouts. A top 4 Premier League club will be represented at the trials, held in the Bermuda National Stadium, as well as UK Football Trials’ very own agent Tony Awor. Company director Harry Price spoke of his excitement ahead of the trial camp. “We can’t wait to get started,” he said, “The team all flew out earlier this week and we’re really raring to go, we know there’s huge amounts of players in Bermuda that don’t get the chance to be seen by clubs of the level that we’re providing, so we just want to give them that opportunity.” Once the trial-event has finished, UK Football Trials will be hosting a 100 person charity community day for all, in a bid to leave a lasting positive impact on the island and continue to inspire young footballers after the team has returned. If you’re interested in the UKFT team visiting your country or would like the chance to join "The Search" and play in front of pro club scouts, go to the "Trial Dates" tab at the top of the page and see when we’re next coming to you!

"The Search" comes to Scotland for unique stadium trial

Date: 06/07/2015

For the first time ever, Scottish footballers will be given the chance to join “The Search” and be a part of UK Football Trials’ hunt for undiscovered talent. Players from the ages of 10 to 28 will be given the opportunity to follow in the footsteps of their heroes and step out on to the pitch at Falkirk Stadium, which holds close to 9,000 spectators. The stadium is home to last year’s Scottish Cup finalists Falkirk FC, who play in the Scottish Championship. An academy level coaching session followed by a match on the Falkirk Pitch will give trialists the chance to impress scouts from Scotland and Northern England, ranging from the Scottish Premiership and English Championship, through to the semi-professional tiers. Taking a successful model from England which has seen pro and semi club scouts taking details of 110 players at trials so far in 2015, scouts will be able to contact players who impress, giving them the dream chance of a trial at a pro club. Harry Price, founder of UK Football Trials, explained: “We have found in England that there is plenty of talent which either doesn’t get a chance at a Pro club or is written off prematurely. Players may live in a remote location and not get seen or could be considered too small, too slow or be released based on one coach’s opinion. Often this leads to players becoming disillusioned and potentially amazing footballers get lost to the game.” He added: “We are excited to be taking our proven model to Scotland and giving players the chance to experience what it’s like to play at the Falkirk stadium. I have no doubt that we will be able to give many players the chance they need at Pro clubs.” There are not just opportunities available domestically – the Mallorca Football Academy will be an official partner of the trial and will be actively scouting for players to join the Academy setup in Spain. Suiting the smaller, more technical Spanish style player, founder Ross Anderson is also looking forward to the event: “Scotland will provide us scouts with an excellent opportunity to uncover some talent. The exposer in Scotland isn’t fantastic and there are lots of players who don’t often get the chance to be seen by scouts. With UK Football Trials’ “The Search” players will be able to play on a stage with lots of scouts watching them directly – there’s no better platform.” Ross, who is also chairman of a football club in Scotland, added: “From our perspective, we’re hoping to find a few players that will suit our style of play and who would be good enough to come and play in Spain, against the likes of Barcelona and Real Madrid sides.” The trial is open to all and prices start at £95. Spaces are limited and allocated on a first come, first served basis. To book in visit www.ukfootballtrials.com.

UK Football Trials Launches “The Search”

Date: 29/06/2015

Across August 2015, UKFT are running a series of trials called “The Search”. The idea is very simple – we are looking for 1,000 players across 7 cities to take part in our football trials. We guarantee that there will be multiple scouts from pro and semi pro clubs looking to improve their squads at the start of the new season. Never has this volume of scouts been assembled making it without doubt, the best chance for players to be scouted by pro or semi pro clubs in UK Football History. UKFT Director Harry Price explains: “We are really excited to launch this campaign for the August trial set. There have been Nationwide talent identification campaigns before, but they have focused on players winning actual contracts which has only benefitted very small numbers of players. We are going to have high numbers of scouts from Premier League to Semi Pro for every trial event to ensure we give a genuine opportunity to be scouted to every single player whatever their age. As always the trials will be run using our highly respected team of UEFA licensed coaches with pro club experience. Even if players aren’t selected we know they will go away having learnt new techniques and with a better understanding of what they need to work on to improve or get scouted at a later date. So far this year, just under 1 in 10 players have had details requested by scouts so we anticipate this will be the most successful trial set ever for our UKFT undiscovered talents.” Trial slots are limited and prices increase as the events fill up so you need to register with us first (we will give you £50 of free info on getting scouted as a starter) and then to book, visit the “Trial Dates” section of the website. If you have any questions regarding our Feefo “Gold Standard” awarded trials, don’t hesitate to call us on 0845 4961213 or email info@ukfootballtrials.com. We hope to see you at our events this Summer!

Blackett "thankful" ahead of return to football after more than a year out

Date: 18/06/2015

We brought you the news in recent weeks that former Manchester United winger Ramone Blackett, brother of defender Tyler, is set for a week-long trial with Barnsley in July. Ahead of his return to football next month, we caught up with Ramone as he told us about his journey and the struggles he’s faced to get to where he is today. “I was at Man United for 8 years which were amazing, then one year, at the end of season review meeting, they told me they weren’t going to keep me on. I was devastated, Man United are the biggest club in the world and I didn’t know where to go from there, I’d been there my whole life. But in football you have to have a strong mindset because that’s part of it, so I was just focussed on finding somewhere new and playing football again.” Despite having to come to terms with his release from Manchester United, it wasn’t long until Ramone was back playing football again. “While I was at United there was some interest from Wigan, and they moved really quickly after I was released and signed me within a week. I had a great time at Wigan, I progressed really well and was dragged out of school a few times to play in some u18’s matches a couple of years above myself, which was an amazing experience for me. In the end it didn’t work out there and to this day I still don’t know why, things all got a bit funny towards the end.” “After I was released from Wigan I went to an open trial at Blackpool – I played really well in the game and I had a call that evening saying they wanted to sign me for 2 years. I loved my time at Blackpool, to be honest I thought that was the one for me, I was on the right track. I played a friendly for the first team in a testimonial game, playing under Ian Holloway. He was great to work with, he wanted me to play like Matty Phillips who was there at the time (now at QPR) and he was a player I really looked up too. Holloway tried to encourage me and made me feel confident - he improved me as a player." In November 2012, Holloway left his post at Bloomfield Road as he was appointed the new Manager of Crystal Palace – having a huge effect on Blackett’s young career. “Obviously Holloway ended up leaving the club and things became really difficult for me then, I never really got a look in after that and I was released last May (2014). It was very hard being let go from Blackpool, it was tough. Tyler was breaking in to Manchester United first team at the time and for me even just watching matches on TV was very difficult in that period because I just wanted to be playing, but I always believed in my ability and Tyler was brilliant supporting me and encouraging me.” In February this year, Ramone attended a UK Football Trial in Stockport where he attracted the attention of a number of scouts, playing on the left side of midfield. He was approached by the Head of Recruitment at Barnsley, who have since arranged for him to train with the club when they return for pre-season on July 6th. “I had a year out of football without a club when I was just training by myself, trying to stay fit and waiting for an opportunity to come along, and it did with UK Football Trials. I went down to the trial in Manchester and did my best and got the results. They secured me a trial with Barnsley, who are a big team in their own right, and I can’t thank them enough, I owe UK Football Trials a lot. I’ve already started running and training ahead of my trial next month, and I’m just hoping to do my best and see what comes of it.”

18-year-old Australian striker signs contract in England

Date: 03/06/2015

A UK Football Trials player has become the second in as many months to sign a contract after attending our trial. Jacob Tarasenko, 18, has signed a contract with semi pro side Farnborough FC after he was invited in for a trial with the club in May. He attended a UK Football Trial in April this year and performed well, making use of the experience he gained whilst in the Dinamo Zagreb academy in Croatia. The striker, originally from Australia, said: “I enjoyed the experience with UK Football Trials a lot, there was a level of professionalism that you would expect from a pro club. It was a good opportunity for me to show what I can do and it’s great that scouts are there watching you. "I’d recommend it, definitely, you never know who’s watching you and it’s a great chance to make a step up in your game. If you are good enough then they will find something for you." Jacob, who has previously undergone trials with Wigan Athletic and Cambridge Utd, displayed a good touch and the trickery to beat a man on his trial with us, which he puts down to his intense training regime. "I train twice a day most days of the week, getting up at 6am and doing a 2 hour workout - push ups, sit ups etc - to build my core strength, then I do this again at 5pm. On nights when I'm training with my local team I wont train individually," he said. Jacob will start his season with Farnborough in the Isthmian League Premier Division after they were relegated from the Conference South last season.

Scouts take details of almost 50 players in May trials

Date: 02/06/2015

UK Football Trials are delighted to announce that an amazing 45 player's details have been taken by clubs over the course of four trial days in May. Starting the week off in Essex, 11 players caught the eye of the onlooking scouts, while a further five were taken from the Birmingham trial the following day. As the UK Football Trials team moved on to a double trial at Manchester on Wednesday, May 27, held at Stockport Sports Village, the numbers began to soar. Scouts from the Premier League through to semi pro were in attendance for the morning, afternoon and goalkeeper trials, which resulted in 14 players being spotted from that day alone. There was no let up as the week came to a close at QPR's training ground on Thursday, with an amazing 15 players having their details taken by scouts on the day, including a goalkeeper into a Premier League club, taking the total to 45. UK Football Trials Director, Harry Price, who was present at the May trials, said: "We are over the moon with the results from these trials. It's testament to the quality of the players who attended that we have 45 players who managed to do enough to impress the scouts. We saw around 400 players last week across the four days, so to maintain our average of 1 in 10 players is brilliant." We will contact every player who attended our trials by Friday, June 5, either by phone or by email.

118 goal-a-season player flies over from Norway for Manchester City trial

Date: 22/05/2015

We are delighted to announce that 11-year-old Marko Fryad, who had a trial with us in February, is set to fly over from Norway for a trial with Manchester City. A pacey left winger, Marko, who attended our Manchester trial, possesses very quick feet and is very skillfull. A big asset of his game is his goalscoring, and despite playing two years above himself, recently finished the season with 118 goals for his club. He trains six times a week with his two current sides, FK Jerv and Express IL in Norway. His dad, Lawk, said: "He’s very excited about his trial, he was delighted to receive the call. UK Football Trials are the best trials company we’ve been to, even more efficient than the training Marko did with a pro team in the Netherlands. We got answers back about his trial very quick and they gave us everything we wanted." "I have already recommended UK Football Trials to a lot of people in Norway. Many people have asked me about the level of this trial - I said you have to go along and maybe they will be able to find a trial for your son. They can make your dreams come true."

Limited spaces left for amazing Manchester Opportunity

Date: 19/05/2015

Do you want the chance to show your skills to professional scouts at a multi-million pound football facility and work with world class coaches? There are still some spaces available for our Manchester Football Trial next week, where you will have the chance to follow a long line of successful trialists. Harry Price, UK Football Trials Director, said: “Our Manchester trial really is a fantastic opportunity for players. We’ve placed four players into trials with Premier League clubs from Manchester this year, and have a scouting ratio of 1 in 10 players, which is fantastic. We’re really keen to push this trial as far as we can, so we’ve got a record number of scouts attending, from the Premier League through to Semi Pro, so we cater for all levels.” In February, we placed two players into a trial with English giants Manchester City, one of whom is flying over for further training this week. The April trials brought further success, as two Goalkeepers were invited for trials with Stoke City, who finished 9th in the Premier League this season. Other recent success stories from Manchester include players going into teams such as Sheffield Wednesday and local semi professional sides. Harry added: “The players will be working with some amazing coaches here in Manchester – the older players will be coached by Robin van der Laan, who captainted Derby County in the Premiership, the middle age group will have former West Brom Striker Kevin Kent putting them through their paces, while the young boys will have the amazing opportunity of being coached by a Manchester City Academy Coach in John Fenton. “May is the best time of year to get scouted, as teams have one eye on pre season, which is just around the corner. Scouts come with an open mind and are prepared to take a chance on players which they maybe wouldn’t be able to do later in the year, so May really is the best opportunity for any player to get scouted.” If you would like the chance to train with world class coaches and put your talent on display to scouts, click the “Trial Dates” tab at the top of the page to book your space before they go!

He was scouted at our trial in Manchester earlier this year, after displaying great pace to beat a man as well as tracking back and helping out defensively. Speaking about his trial with us, he said: "It’s a great experience, you can show off your talents and express yourself. The football trial was organised and I'm hoping I can go on from here and progress now with Barnsley." I would definitely recommend UK Football Trials to other players, they gave me a second chance. There’s lot of scouts there looking at you, that’s proven." Ramone spent eight years at Manchester United academy up until the age of 14, and has since had spells with Wigan Athletic and Blackpool, where he made one first team appearance. I’m looking to build muscle and keep active every day to stay fit. It's really just been a case of waiting for an opportunity to come along – UK Football Trials gave me that opportunity." Ramone, who plays as a left winger, is the brother of Manchester United defender Tyler, and he spoke of how his brothers recent breakthrough has inspired him. "It’s been good having Tyler around. We are delighted to announce that 16-year-old Ahmed Bedjaoui has undergone a week-long trial with Fulham FC, after he was spotted at our West London trial in April. He travelled over from Algeria to take part in a series of our trials across the UK in April. On the final trial of the week he caught the eye of the Fulham FC scout, as he displayed a fantastic touch and the ability to beat a defence with his weaving dribbles. We did cardio every day, running, speed and agility tests and before he came over he was training and playing regularly for his team in Algeria. "Ahmed was very impressed with the trial. The organisation was great, it was tactically impressive and very professional. There was a range of ability and ages and he was able to fit in well and do enough to stand out to the scouts. "UK Football Trials secured Ahmed a trial with Fulham FC and I am already looking at coming back with players in the summer. I’m in touch with a lot of players and I will be recommending them to come to more trials this year."

Kieran Spencer - aged 14 - set for trial with Sheffield Wednesday after impressing in April Trials

Date: 08/05/2015

We would like to pass on our congratulations to Kieran Spencer, 14, who is set for a trial with Sheffield Wednesday after a scout spotted him at our Manchester trial in April. Kieran, who plays in central midfield, displayed an ability to score goals from midfield and he also layed on a few assists for team mates on the day. As well as frequent visits to the gym and regular runs, Kieran trains and plays for his local side Ashton Waterloo FC two to three times a week - playing football as regularly as possible is important for anyone looking to turn pro. Kieran's Mum, Lisa, said: "Kieran really enjoyed his trial, it was a big moment for him when he was asked to stay behind at the end and play with the older boys. He's not one to show off to the scouts, he just does things on merit and puts in the work and it's great that they recognised that. "We have already recommended UK Football Trials to other parents and players. The feedback that we got from the coaches was brilliant and it makes it such a personal experience. It’s great for the players to see where they’re at, if there’s a chance of making it as a footballer and if so, which level is right for them."

UK Football trials' agent makes documentary set to air on sky sports tomorrow

Date: 21/03/2015

UK Football Trials’ agent has been working on a documentary set to air on Sky Sports tomorrow, focusing on the struggles of the first black player ever to play for Chelsea. Tony Awor, our Head Scout and Head of Player Placement, has spent the last three months trying to shed some light on the story of Paul Canoville, who suffered heavy racial abuse in his spell with the blues from 1981-86. “Paul was such an important player in the history of not only Chelsea Football Club, but the whole of English football, and I think it’s important to bring some attention to his story and what he went through,” said Tony. “He paved the way for the likes of Drogba, Essien and the Makelele’s of this generation to come through and make the impact they have. This documentary will shed some light what Paul went through and the real reason behind him leaving Chelsea.” The winger, who was born in Hillingdon, left Chelsea for Reading for £50,000 after less than five years with the club, in which time he scored 11 goals in 79 appearances. Tony went on: “It's great to see such a stark contrast between the old Chelsea and the new Chelsea. Stamford Bridge was not the most welcoming place in the past but now it's renowned for its cosmopolitan fan base, which Paul Canoville contributed to.” A trailer for Black and Blue can be seen here https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OybautM8aiE. The documentary, labelled “Black and Blue”, will air on Sky Sports 1 on Sunday, March 22 at 7pm, in between Chelsea’s game with Hull and El Clasico.

Our exclusive partnership offers you the chance to play in Spain against Barcelona and Real Madrid

Date: 12/03/2015

Do you want the chance to spend 9 months in Spain, playing football against teams like Barcelona, Real Madrid and Valencia u20’s? Then the Mallorca Football Academy is for you. If you came to our trials in February, you may have seen the Mallorca Football Academy scouts watching the games and looking for players to recruit. UK Football Trials went into an exclusive partnership with Mallorca Football Academy earlier this year, providing players with the possibility join the academy in Spain and play some of the top La Liga sides development squads. Mallorca Football Academy have a specific type of player in mind too – if you’re of a slight build, short, technically good but not necessarily suited to the physical English game, the academy could be for you. We sat down with Mallorca Football Academy Recruitment Manager, Allan Milven, who gave us an insight in to the academy and what you would experience in your time there. “It provides players from 16 to 23 the opportunity to play in Spain and learn the Spanish game,” he said. “For players who are maybe smaller, less physical and a bit shy on the pitch it’s a perfect alternative. “In Spanish football, you’ll be on the ball lots. If you play a long ball you’ll be down for press-ups, that’s the methodology here in Spain. The whole philosophy is about having the ball at your feet. “Any player who joins us will be at an academy full time for 9 months and the great thing about it is you’re constantly on trial - you always have a chance to impress scouts and coaches. Spanish Segunda side Real Mallorca have a partnership with the academy, allowing them first refusal on any player – offering a great path in to the game. Allan added: “Players in our academy will be playing games once or twice a week, and over the course of the year will play against teams from Barcelona, Real Madrid, Valencia u20’s and many others. “We like to keep the players involved with professional football and give them a taste of what it could be like if they make it professionally. They’ll have the chance to travel with the Real Mallorca first team to one of their games, watch them train every so often – we offer the whole professional football experience. You can guarantee you will leave as a better player from a year in the Mallorca Football Academy.” If this sounds like it could be for you, you have to attend a UK Football Trial to have a chance to meet Mallorca Football Academy and to impress their scouts. Please note there is a cost involved with the Mallorca Football Academy - get in touch for details. To book on to our trials for April – which many trials now have less that 16 spaces left for and will sell out – go to the “Trial Dates” tab at the top of the page.

FORMER PREMIERSHIP CAPTAIN JOINS UK FOOTBALL TRIALS COACHING TEAM

Date: 05/03/2015

UK Football Trials are delighted to announce the addition of an ex Premiership captain to the coaching team. Robin van der Laan, who captained Derby County in the First Division and the Premiership, recently coached on our most successful trials week ever in February, helping a massive 43 players get scouted by pro and semi pro clubs. The Dutch midfielder, who is now First Team Coach of semi pro side Newcastle Town, brings with him a wealth of knowledge and experience, racking up more than 400 professional appearance between 1987 - 2001. "I'm proud to be part of the UK Football Trials coaching staff as this professional organisation is offering realistic opportunities for players to showcase their talents and abilities to a captive audience," said Robin. "I personally was scouted at 16 years of age back in Holland and fully understand the concept of being fortunate enough to be playing well at the right time when the important people are watching the game. UK Soccer trials are taking all the eventualities and luck elements out of it, the important people including us as coaches will be watching, players just have to perform and shine to the best of their ability during the trials. This concept is very simple, if you are deemed good enough during these trials you will get opportunities." On the addition of Van der Laan to the coaching team, UK Football Trials director Harry Price added: “It’s fantastic to be able to add a coach of Robin’s calibre to our staff. He’s an internationally renowned player who achieved much in his career, including winning at Wembley and scoring at Anfield, as well as leading Derby to promotion as captain. “We’ve already seen the results of the impact Robin’s made, with a record 43 players scouted at our last trial set and we’re hoping his experience and knowledge of the game continue to improve us as a company and the players that attend our trials.” Following his retirement, Robin went on to work as Head International Coach of Manchester United Soccer Schools, before opening his own Soccer School in Canada.

Sucje Lee, 11, flew over from South Korea to take part in four of our trials last week, following the team from London, to Birmingham and on to Manchester. The attacking midfield impressed scouts throughout the week and his details were requested by six clubs, four of whom play in the Premier League. Decision Day - All players contacted with news from the pro and semi pro club scouts!

Date: 27/02/2015

IT’S Decision Day at UK Football Trials – we have been in touch with every one of the 412 players who attended our trials last week. This has been the most successful week ever had by a football trials company in the world, with 43 players having been scouted by pro and semi pro clubs – better than 1 in 10. We are also delighted to announce that 17 players have been given an opportunity at Premier League clubs, one is already training today with the champions of England! The feedback has been overwhelmingly positive from the players and parents too – we really appreciate your comments! However, if you have not been lucky enough to be one of the players scouted this time, this does not mean you will not go on to play professionally. Nearly every player who now plays professional football has had to face rejection at some stage in their careers – Harry Kane was released by Arsenal at a young age and is now a striking sensation in the Premier League and on the verge of an England call up. We have had players in the past who have been unsuccessful in their first, second and even third trial, only to go on to be scouted at the fourth attempt. It is key to not give up and to use this as a driving factor. If you haven’t heard from us, don’t worry, please get in touch at info@ukfootballtrials.com or via text/call and we will give you a decision as soon as possible. For any players looking to attend our April trials, they are on sale now at discounted prices on our website. Please be aware that some trial dates are already half full and prices are set to rise early next week! Thank you so much to all the players who attended our February trials, we saw great players with excellent attitudes who we know have a great chance to make it in the future if now wasn’t their time. We look forward to seeing many of you again in April who have already rebooked!

Date: 05/02/2015

UK Football Trials are delighted to announce that 15-year-old Hamilton Chiwara will undergo a trial with Conference Premier side Kidderminster Harriers FC tomorrow. Hamilton, who attended our Birmingham trial in October, plays just behind the striker and possesses a great passing ability, and can also help out in defence. Hamilton's training routine consists of going to the gym twice a week, playing for his school side, St Thomas Catholic, and his Sunday League team Athletico Rangers. His mother spoke of Hamilton's experience with UK Football Trials: “He was very happy, he went to UKFT three times and he said that he felt he improved every time. He really liked the way he received a lot of feedback. Other trials that he’s been to in the past weren’t very good and they didn’t give him any feedback – that was one of the big things he took away from it. I would recommend anyone to go with UK Football Trials."

Great news for yet another UK Football Trials player! 11 year old Josh Schofield has been training and playing with Premier League side Everton Football Club since November, after he was spotted at our football trial in Manchester. Josh’s bravery in goal, obvious shot stopping ability and composure on the ball stood out to the on looking scouts, who subsequently invited him to train with the u12’s. He now has 4-5 professional sessions each week with Everton, including 1-on-1 training working on his technique. Josh also trains himself outside of football or school hours to make sure he stays in shape! We asked Joshua and his father to describe their experience with UK Football Trials: "He really enjoyed the trial, as did I did as a parent. The whole day was set up really well and we were made to feel really welcome right from the off. The goalkeeper coach, Billy Stewart, was fantastic with us. I’d definitely recommend UK Football Trials to anyone. I initially only brought Josh along to see what kind of level he was playing at and if this sort of thing was right for him. We got an honest appraisal of where he was at he was able to really kick on." We congratulate Joshua with his ongoing success and hope he inspires YOU to take your chance at our next football trials!

The 15-year-old have his trial with the Conference Premier side later this week, on February 6. Speaking after his trial, he said: “I really enjoyed the day, it was a fantastic experience and I loved the training methods that were used. The attention to deal really helped me and I can already see an improvement in my ball control. “The trials are brilliant. The coach has been in constant contact with us since the trial and has made it a really personal experience. I’d definitely recommend this trial setup for anyone who is unsure what to do next or where to go." He added: "We’ve been to other similar setups in the pat and we found that there weren’t even any scouts there; we left after half the day. The main thing we took away from this is that if the player has the talent or the skill, then with UKFT they WILL get you the chance.” Finally, Ovais shared his training play with us, to help other people in his shoes get to where he has. “I don’t have a strict training plan as such, I just try to keep generally fit. I walk back from school every day, train a couple of times a week with my team and play games either once or twice on the weekends for my local side, Dudley Junior Sports u16’s.”

"Momo" 14 year old central/attacking midfielder who has been scouted for a trial with Accrington Stanley after attending a trial in Manchester. “Momo” possesses great technical ability and displays composure on the ball, showcasing a range of distribution. Here's more about Mo and his footall: “I train with a Premiership Development squad one day a week and with my side Bamber Bridge FC u15’s once a week too. In my spare time I do burpies and squats for half an hour a day, then ten minutes on the treadmill followed by sprints and ballwork.” We asked Momo how he found his experience with UK Football Trials: “This is the first time I have ever done something like this. It’s made me more confident and it’s a great opportunity to play and show people what I can do. I’ve had coaching experience at a top premiership club but thought that the level of coaching at UK Football Trials was just as high. It’s a massive opportunity for me and other kids that don’t get the chance to play in front of scouts; I think there should be more trials like these around. UKFT gives people like me a massive opportunity, even if they aren’t up to the level to get scouted they still get to spend a day with top coaches and learn a lot.” We congratulate Momo and hope he inspires you to attend our next events in February!

Oliver already stands at 5 foot 3 and showed good feet, great distribution and bravery during our football trial. Oliver trains extremely hard and is very disciplined in his daily routines for a player at such a young age: "I spend most evenings practicing my goalkeeping, either at the park or using a ball at home which I either throw against the wall and save or save shots against my dad in the back garden. Every opportunity I get, I am practising my football." Oliver then described his trial with the pro club: "At the UK Football Trial event I was scouted for Shrewsbury Town FC where I attended two trials - it was a great experience. I was able to train with some very talented football players; it was great fun and has made me more determined to succeed with my football career and develop my potential as a pro goalkeeper." Oliver shone from the start and performed well both in the training and the matches. We asked him how he found his football trial experience with us: "My trial with UKFT was amazing. I was made to feel welcome from the minute I arrived. I was very nervous at first but once I got onto the field my nerves had gone. The training session was hard work but great fun. It was great to be shown new skills from the coach and to push myself to show my potential to the scouts. The feedback was very useful and has shown me key areas which I am constantly striving to improve on." Success! Philip Walter - Great Story to inspire young players this August Trial Set!

Date: 16/08/2014

We first met a 10 year old Philip Walter at our trials in Birmingham last season. He got scouted by a premiership team on the day, but faced some obstacles and has overcome them to his great credit to sign this season. We asked Phil to share his story to help inspire players looking to get a pro club opportunity this season. "After my trial at the premiership club, I was told I was not quite at the required level. In my disappointment I cried and questioned my self - was I ever going to be good enough? So I picked myself up and trained and worked harder. Then I had a serious injury to my right knee with eight weeks in a cast but I didn't let it hold me back - it made me more determined. I still trained with my cast on but on my good leg. Once the cast was off I trialled again with UK Football Trials and they gave me back my confidence. A few weeks after the trial I was given a chance to trial for Junior Blues at Birmingham City Football Club. I was successful and am now playing for them in the NERF Junior Premier League. It's now onwards and upwards hopefully and thanks to UK Football Trials for all their help and support . Never let anything hold you back - IT'S NOT THE SKILL, IT'S THE WILL TO SUCCEED and the right attitude. Thank you once again UK Football Trials, Harry Price, Darran Jones and all the team."

Great news today at the UK Football Trials office as 20 year old Daniel Parkinson has been scouted from our London Trials to go for Pre Season with Grays Athletic. Daniel a quick attacking midfielder showed excellent game understanding, vision, awareness, close control, creativity and was a stand out communicator in the whole trial. It gave me the fuel to work even harder on my game. Coming back a third time was good, I knew what had to be done to get selected. I train everyday, always eating healthy foods." Daniel is a great example to players in their late teens and early 20's who think it might be too late - he is proof that it isn't! "My message to other "older" players like me - is that you can’t get upset or give up after 1 or 2 set backs – almost every player in the game would have had a set back, but it's how you choose to respond!" UK Football Trials are delighted that from August 2013 onwards, all our open football trials throughout the UK, will give players the chance to not only go forward to pro club trials and semi pro club trials, but also go into the UK Football Trials Elite squad. Designed for players who the UEFA Coaches, scouts and UK Football Trials Head of Player Placement believe are not quite at pro or semi pro club trial level YET, but could well be later in the season. We will be organising Elite trials later in the season that will involve showcase matches and be a second chance for players that were close to being selected. We hope that this will encourage players to work hard during the season on areas of their game that need fine tuning, improve and then perform to secure the opportunity in a pro club trial or semi pro club trial anywhere within the UK. Director of Operations for UK Football Trials says "We had numerous discussions with football industry experts to find ways to make the UK football trials experience better and provide more players with more opportunities. The Elite idea was recommended by our UEFA coaches, scout contacts and agents. It is an exciting step forward for open football trial players as last season there were players who were close to being selected - we want to give these players another chance." UKFT New Strength & Conditioning Expert Joins the Team - Matt Jones

Date: 16/05/2013

Following requests via email and on the trial days from players looking to improve their strength and conditioning, UK Football Trials have teamed up with a highly respected expert - Matt Jones - Lead Performance Nutritionist at PurePharma, who also runs his own business, Nutrition Condition: http://www.nutritioncondition.co.uk/ . All players aged 15+ ATTENDING OUR TRIALS THIS MAY will get the strength and conditioning document FOR FREE! Matt Jones told UKFT ""Elite football performance is characterised by the ability to sustain high work intensities throughout a match; aerobic fitness, a high anaerobic capacity, muscular strength, power, speed, and agility are just a few of the physical attributes required of elite level football players. Few players devote any amount of time to the development of any of the attributes. In reality - strength and conditioning should equate to around half of the football training that each player undertakes. Modern day professional football requires excellence in each physical and technical attribute, and failing to develop the physical side of your game can significantly impair your chances of making the cut." Championship Club Scout Dave Fairbrother, with 40 years experience gives his independent view on UK Football Trials

Date: 25/04/2013

UK Football Trials are delighted to hear from an extremely well known, experienced and respected scout within the professional game after he attended our Birmingham Trial in April. Dave Fairbrother has kindly sent us his thoughts on UK Football Trials "I would highly recommend UK FOOTBALL TRIALS to any player wishing to progress in the game. The staff/coaches at UK Football Trials are very highly qualified with a vast experience in the pro game. It is a great chance for me and other scouts to see a range of different age groups at one time and in one place and the staff are very welcoming and knowledgeable. As an ex player, manager and now a scout for 40 years I am a great believer that players develop at different stages both in ability...and physically...and just need the chance to show their talent in front of scouts. UK FOOTBALL TRIALS give them that opportunity”

SUCCESS! Jack Allen on trial with Premier League Side Norwich City FC

Date: 24/04/2013

After a superb performance in the younger age group at the football trial with UKFT in April, Jack Allen was selected by Head of Player Placement Tony Awor and put straight in for a 6 week trial with the Premier League Club. Jack showed excellent technical ability, was confident off both feet and did the basics consistently, accurately and at a high tempo. Jacks father Michael describes his experience so far with Norwich “Jack was nervous going to his first Norwich training session. The coaching staff upon arrival were very professional and Jack enjoyed the session from the warm up to the end. The players were all a good standard, passing quickly and chasing the ball if they lost it. Jack knows he has to listen and learn from every training session. He realises that the standard of football is a lot higher here.” We asked how Jack found the UKFT trial too: “Jack was quite reserved going to the trial at UKFT not knowing what to expect. Upon arrival the staff made him and the other players feel relaxed. He enjoyed the session even though he felt slightly under pressure to perform with other players that he did not know. Jack came away happy from the trail with his own performance and thought it was a good experience regardless of the outcome.” We congratulate Jack and will keep you posted on his progress!

UK Football Trials today received a write up by the player Eoghan O'Neil who attened our London trial in February. Former England International and UEFA Pro Licence Coach - Gary Stevens joins the UKFT coaching team

Date: 10/07/2012

UK Football Trials are delighted that former England International Player Gary Stevens has joined part of the UKFT coaching team. An outstanding UEFA Pro Licence Coach – one of only 200 in the country. Gary played for Tottenham Hotspur and England, selected by Sir Bobby Robson to play in the Mexico 1986 World Cup. Gary started his career in 1979 where he made his debut as a 17-year-old, in the First Division as Brighton won 2–0 at home to IpswichTown, the club which had released him as a schoolboy. Gary joined Tottenham Hotspurs and made his Tottenham debut at the start of the 1983-84 season, again against Ipswich. He was a first team regular that season, making 40 league appearances and played on the winning side in the 1984 UEFA Cup. John Dungworth our head coach has selected four players going for two week trials in August and to extend this partnership for another season provides a superb opportunity for all our selected trial players."
